In Pursuit Of (IPO) is seeking a Digital Strategist to oversee the planning, production, and management of written copy and multimedia content for websites, social media, email marketing, and other digital properties for Concerned Veterans for America (CVA). CVA is a national grassroots group focused on helping veterans reforming the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) through issue advocacy and education, as well as holding elected officials accountable for failing to act in the best interests of veterans.


The Digital Strategist will develop a comprehensive digital strategy for CVA manage and ensure that the client’s policy and programmatic priorities are effectively communicated to key audiences online while continuing to build an active, robust digital army for the grassroots organization. This role will include oversight of public-facing digital platforms and the production and approval of content.

  • Develop a comprehensive digital strategy for CVA focusing on brand awareness, lead generation, and direct response geared toward achieving CVA’s policy goals.
  • Oversee day-to-day operation of CVA’s social media properties, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, SnapChat, and Instagram.
  • Drive content production and approval for written and multimedia products.
  • Develop and implement content plans/calendars and oversee client’s websites, social media channels, and other relevant digital platforms.
  • Lead organic growth and engagement of digital efforts for the client and their online content needs related to policy and other programmatic efforts.
  • Increase brand awareness and exposure through paid advertising and promotion on social media and other digital platforms.
  • Develop regular reports to track key metrics across digital platforms and communicate performance to key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate between departments to align strategic priorities and ensure project timelines are followed.


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a digital communications or marketing role
  • Familiarity with digital trends and best practices
  • Experience with social media platforms and digital content management systems
  • Strong critical thinking skills, and creative mindset, to help develop effective engagement tactics
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills and the ability and willingness to collaborate across teams and stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and a proven ability to manage projects and timelines
  • Exhibits a dedication to the client’s mission to advance policies that help America’s veterans
  • Military experience a plus, but not required
  • Familiarity with veterans and defense-related issues a plus, but not required
