  • Overview

    Cause of Action Institute is a 501(c)(3) oversight group advocating for economic freedom and individual opportunity advanced by honest, accountable, and limited government. We are looking to hire a Strategic Research Analyst to work with a team that develops and executes research and analysis of the administrative state and related activity to inform organizational strategy, litigation, and investigations.

    Responsibilities

    • Investigation and Research – Using subscription and open source tools and databases, Perform internet and social media research, conduct searches
    • Current Event Monitoring - Establish and maintain research systems to keep abreast of government and media events and updates related to ongoing initiatives
    • Innovation - Conceive new research and investigative opportunities to advance our mission, articulate project goals, then develop and execute strategic plans to achieve those goals
    • Counsel Support – Provide general research ideas and support; enter and manage data in collaboration with counsel
    • Communications Support - Provide communications team with research findings to bolster messaging campaigns
    • Leveraging Findings - Identify impactful opportunities by which to leverage research and investigative findings in collaboration with counsel and communications team
    • Deliverables - Prepare memos, tables, and investigative reports for dissemination to internal stakeholders, outside organizations, lawmakers, media and public

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Research and/or analytical experience preferred
    • Strong writing skills and customer focus required
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required; experience with subscription databases such as Lexis Nexis, Factiva, and open source government tools preferred
    • Ability to take initiative, collaborate, and work independently
    • Familiarity with and commitment to free-market principles
    • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Self-starter attitude and high sense of urgency
