  • Overview

    The Finance intern will be an integral part of the Finance team, providing key support to ensure smooth operations within the department. The intern will assist in finance and accounting projects from all state chapters to the National Office, including financial reporting of monthly results, measuring costs of various activities and other recurring and ad hoc projects. The candidate should have a commitment to the principles of the organization – specifically, a firm commitment to advancing every individual’s right to economic freedom and opportunity through free markets.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate state and National communications of financial results and ensure process is meeting needs of users
    • Assist with forecasting and variance analysis of monthly financial documentsAssist key Finance staff, including Financial Planning & Analysis Manager and Vice President in various ad hoc projects
    • Compile reports and materials for meetings and projects
    • Perform other tasks and special projects to assist Finance and Accounting staff as needed
    • Support staff in assigned project based work
    • Participate in educational sessions discussing public policy and economic philosophy

    Qualifications

    • Ability to work Monday-Friday (40 hours per week) for 3 months (May-August)
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, occasionally under strict deadlines
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Integrity, humility and an entrepreneurial attitude
    • Positive, goal-oriented outlook
    • Willingness to learn and provide assistance as necessary
    • Strong Excel skills; database experience beneficial
    • Customer service or Finance experience a plus, but not required
